Director mode: from Flow to finished commercial

Director mode in Flows keeps your cast and set consistent across shots, storyboards the beats, and assembles clips and music into an editable timeline.

Director mode lives inside Flows and turns a brief into a finished commercial. You lock your cast and location, storyboard the beats, and Director generates the clips and music and assembles them into an editable timeline.

What does Director mode do?

  • Keeps the same characters and location across every shot.
  • Breaks your idea into storyboard beats.
  • Generates a clip for each beat, plus music.
  • Assembles everything into a timeline you can edit.

How do I use it?

  • Start from a Flow and open Director mode.
  • Add reference images for your cast and your location, and lock them.
  • Write or review the storyboard beats.
  • Generate the clips and music.
  • Review the timeline, then adjust the order, trim clips or regenerate a beat.

Why lock cast and location?

Video models create each clip separately. Locking reference images for your cast and set means each shot starts from the same people and place, so the finished ad looks like one production instead of unrelated clips.

What does it cost?

Director uses the same credits as the video and music models it calls. The cost is shown before you generate. Test with shorter or lower resolution clips first, then make your final. See Generate video for per second prices.

Can Super Agent help?

On Growth and Pro, Super Agent can create a storyboard and generate shots into it from a brief. See Get started with Super Agent.

Tips

  • Use clear, front facing reference images for each character.
  • Keep each beat to one action.
  • Pick music after the cut feels right.
