How to Make a Product Video Ad From Claude

TL;DR: Connect the Avocado AI MCP server to Claude, upload a product photo, and ask Claude to turn it into a video ad. Claude calls Avocado's video models (Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, MiniMax H3), polls the job, and delivers the finished clip to your workspace. Plans start at EUR 19.99 per month.

What you need before you start

To make a product video ad from inside Claude, you need two things:

  1. A Claude account (web, desktop, or Claude Code).
  2. An Avocado AI plan that includes the MCP server. The MCP server is available on every paid plan, starting at EUR 19.99 per month for the Intro plan with 100 credits.

You also need a product photo or a clear text description of what you want. A single product shot on a plain background works best for image-to-video ads.

Step 1: Connect Claude to the Avocado MCP server

If you are using Claude on the web or desktop:

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Paste the Avocado MCP endpoint: https://www.avocadoai.co/api/mcp
  4. Sign in with your Avocado account. Claude uses OAuth, so no API key is needed.

If you are using Claude Code, run:

claude mcp add avocado-ai --transport http https://www.avocadoai.co/api/mcp

Then add your Avocado API key as a Bearer token in the header. You can generate an API key from your Avocado API keys page.

Once connected, Claude can see all of Avocado's generation tools: images, video, music, sound effects, speech, and editing. The agent discovers the full tool list automatically from the MCP endpoint.

Step 2: Upload your product photo

Open a new conversation in Claude. Attach your product photo directly in the chat. A clean product shot on a neutral background gives the best results for video ads.

If you do not have a product photo yet, you can ask Claude to generate one first using the generate_image tool. For example: "Generate a studio product photo of a glass supplement bottle with a matte label, on a white marble surface, soft directional light."

Step 3: Ask Claude to generate the video ad

With your product photo attached, describe the motion and scene you want. Be specific about camera movement, lighting, and mood.

Here is a prompt that works well for ecommerce brands:

Turn this product photo into a 6-second video ad. Slow clockwise orbit around the bottle, warm studio lighting, soft shadows on a clean surface. Vertical 9:16 format for Instagram Reels.

Claude will:

  1. Call generate_video with your prompt, the attached image as a start frame, and your chosen model and resolution.
  2. Receive a job ID immediately.
  3. Poll check_job until the clip is ready (typically 2 to 5 minutes).
  4. Show you the finished video in the chat.

The video is also saved to your Avocado workspace automatically. You can find it later in your gallery, edit it, upscale it, or drop it into a Flows pipeline.

Making UGC-style ads

If you want a creator-style talking video instead of a product film, describe it like this:

Create a 15-second UGC-style video ad. A creator holds the product and talks about how it helped their skin. Vertical 9:16, casual tone, natural light.

Claude can generate this through Avocado's UGC studio tools. The creator holds your real product in the video, and you can choose from ready-made creator looks or bring your own.

Step 4: Add voiceover and music

After the video clip is ready, you can ask Claude to add audio layers:

Add a calm female voiceover that says "Glow from within. Our vitamin C serum, made with 15% L-ascorbic acid." Then add a soft ambient music bed underneath.

Claude calls:

  • generate_speech for the voiceover. Avocado's default voice engine is Fish Audio S2 Pro, with ElevenLabs and Seed Audio also available.
  • generate_music for the background music bed. MiniMax Music 3 and ElevenLabs Music are available, producing tracks from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.

Both audio files land in your Avocado workspace alongside the video. From there you can assemble them in Flows or download them for editing elsewhere.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

A typical product video ad workflow from Claude takes 5 to 10 minutes end to end:

StepTimeCredits (approx.)
Product photo (if generating)30 seconds1 credit (Nano Banana 2 at 2K)
Video ad (6 seconds, 720p)2 to 5 minutes8 to 23 credits depending on model
Voiceover (10 seconds)15 seconds1 credit
Music bed (30 seconds)30 seconds4 credits

Video credits vary by model and resolution. Seedance 2.5 at 480p costs about 1.76 credits per second; at 1080p it is about 9.36 credits per second. A 6-second clip at 720p runs roughly 23 credits.

On the Intro plan (EUR 19.99 per month, 100 credits), you can produce several product video ads per month. The Starter plan (EUR 39 per month, 300 credits) gives more headroom for iteration. See Avocado AI pricing for the full breakdown.

Every generation that fails is refunded automatically.

Claude picks the model based on your description, but you can specify one explicitly: "Use Kling 3.0 Pro for this product showcase."

FAQ

Can Claude make video ads without Avocado?

Claude has no built-in video generation. It needs an MCP server like Avocado to call video models. Without a connected tool, Claude can only write scripts and prompts, not produce actual video files.

Do I need to stay in the Claude chat while the video renders?

No. The Avocado MCP server returns a job ID immediately. Claude polls the job in the background, but the video also appears in your Avocado workspace when it finishes. You can close the chat and check back later.

Can I use the videos in paid ads?

Yes. Every Avocado plan includes commercial rights and no watermarks. You can run the videos on Meta, TikTok, Google, or any other platform.

What is the difference between making a video ad in Claude versus the Avocado web app?

The web app gives you a visual workbench with presets, start/end frame controls, and a drag-and-drop editor. Claude gives you a conversational interface where you describe what you want in natural language. Both use the same models and the same credit balance. Claude is faster for quick iterations; the web app gives more manual control.

Can Claude chain multiple steps into one workflow?

Yes. You can ask Claude to research a product from a URL, write ad copy, generate a product image, turn it into a video, add voiceover and music, and deliver the finished assets, all in one conversation. Each step calls a different Avocado MCP tool.

Does this work with Claude Code or only the web app?

It works with Claude Code, Claude web, Claude desktop, and any other MCP client (Codex, Cursor, Hermes). Claude web and desktop use OAuth; Claude Code and other clients use an API key.

How many product video ads can I make per month?

It depends on your plan and the models you use. On the Intro plan (100 credits), you can make about 4 to 5 short product films at 480p with Seedance 2.5, or more if you use faster models like Seedance 2.0 Mini. Credits roll over for up to one year, and you can buy top-ups anytime.

Can I schedule the finished video ad to post on social media?

If you are on the Growth or Pro plan with the Connectors add-on (EUR 29 per month), you can ask Claude to publish or schedule the video to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, or X through Avocado's publishing tools. Every post requires your approval first.
